Fun & Freedom Day Camp - Rachel Carson Homestead

We are happy to host Fun & Freedom Day Camp – wonderful children, teen and adult leaders who visit to enjoy NATURE and provide Community Service to the Rachel Carson Homestead.

This summer (2023), the week of June 12th, FUN AND FREEDOM YOUTH SPORTS will be conducting our annual Summer Day Camp (in Springdale) for Youth 1st – 6th Grades.

Through the years – the Rachel Carson Homestead has allowed us to conduct our “NATURE” and “COMMUNITY SERVICE PROJECT” Day Camp activities at the Homestead site during camp week. Our 2023 Day Camp will be a four-day activity (9am – 4pm) and our Camp Schedule would be Monday June 12, Tuesday June 13, Wednesday June 14 and Thursday June 15 (There will be no camp on Friday June 16)

For both our “NATURE” and “COMMUNITY SERVICE PROJECT” activities – campers would come in small groups, at designated times, throughout that time period on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. We have our own Camp Counselor Staff to oversee all activities so we would not need the Homestead to provide staffing. And we would conduct all activities outside.

COMMUNITY SERVICE: For the “COMMUNITY SERVICE” part of our camp – we have done various weeding, planting etc. projects at the Homestead and would be happy to do that (or any other project you would like our campers to do) again for this summer’s camp.

We would again like to ask permission to use the grounds at the Rachel Carson Homestead during the days and hours described above.
