Visiting the Rachel Carson Homestead
Celebrate Rachel’s life and legacy by visiting her birthplace and early home: the place most significant environmentalist in her too-short life. This site is where she lived and discovered the outdoors, developed her own “sense of wonder,” drew water from a spring-house, read and dreamed of becoming a writer.
Temporarily closed due to state-wide closure of nonessential businesses to reduce spread of COVID-19.
We look forward to reopening and welcoming visitors EVERY SATURDAY with scheduled tours and by appointment to accommodate all visitors. You can email or phone 724-274-5459 for updates. Please allow time for us to return your call or email!
The wooded sensory walking trail is open dawn-to-dusk.
We appreciate your interest and look forward to your visit!
